SOUTH TEXAS DOVES

Christian and myself skipped town Friday morning to drive south to Brownsville, TX for some fine dove hunting over sunflower fields along the Rio Grande. The weather faired favorable, birds flew plentiful through the skies and the rest of the details fell into place for a fine weekend of bird shooting and story telling. During the mid-day break, we grilled meals over hot coals and drank cold Shiner under the shade of the trees bordering the field. Breakfast tacos started the day and Micheladas and tequila joined the mix throughout the weekend to keep with South Texas tradition. Monday morning we headed back north with a cooler full of birds, some rolls of film and plenty of stories until next year.
